The Proof- Saved 70% at Kroger
I had not done my weekly meal planning and grocery list making, but we needed diapers so it was off for a quick trip to Kroger. Here is what happened.
Transaction #1
2 California Pizza Kitchen Pizza- $4.99 each
-2 $1 printable coupons
2 DiGiorno Flatbread Pizzas- $4.99
-2 $1.50 coupons from 5/17 insert
Final cost- $16.50 or $4.10 each (I saved $15.20 or 50%)
***A $5 catalina did not print. I have called the catalina company 888-826-8766 to tell them. They said they could not check the logs until tomorrow and they would get back to me. If it had printed it would have made the pizzas a much better $2.87 each***
Transaction #2
2 Huggies supreme diapers- $8.99 each
-2 $2 printable coupons
1 Huggies Pull-up Overnite-$8.99
-$5 coupon from Huggies mailer (If you buy Huggies and have not signed up for this I highly recommend it.)
-$1.50/1 Huggies diaper Shortcuts e coupon
-$2/1 Huggies Pull-Ups Shortcuts e coupon
-$1/1 Huggies diaper Cellfire e coupon
-$3 off when you buy $15 worth of Huggies products
Pedigree Dentastix Dog Treats- $4.59
-$2.50 coupon from insert
-$2.50 Shortcuts e coupon
Final cost- Free + $.40 overage to cover the tax
Transaction total- $12.98 (I saved $23.84 or 70%) Not bad for three packages of diapers and some dog treats.
My $3/2 Huggies coupon did not come off my bill so, I went to their website and put in all the information about the coupon that did not come off. I got a message that said they would get back to me in 3-4 days.
So, as you can see things did not work out quite how I had hoped. I was planning on having a $5 catalina coupon and $3 off cellfire coupon. That would have made the diapers about $2 a package. Oh well, I think I still got a good deal and I will now better understand the process to go through when e copuons and catalinas don’t work quite right.
