krogerlogoTHE HUSBAND kept the boys while I took my trip to Kroger tonight and it is a good thing he did. The trip took me longer than usual and I had to do a lot of thinking to make things work. I did not realize how little is left at “my” Kroger. They are opening the new Fountain City Kroger next week so of course they did not have a lot of the sale items in stock. My guess is they did not order a whole lot so almost half of my Mega Sale list was out of stock. Argh.

I did still get some great deals. Here are my favorites:

-$1 Shortcuts e coupon
Final cost= Free + $.51 overage

Pepperidge Farm Crackers or Baked Naturals Crackers-$1.99
-$1 off Pepperidge Farm Crackers printable (IE) or printable (FF)
Final cost=$.99 (Honey reported some boxes have a “Try me free” sticker telling you where to send in for a full price rebate so these could be a moneymaker)

Cheez-It Crackers-$.99
-$1/2 from Kroger mailer
Final cost=$.49 each

I also bought a lot of produce, some chicken breasts, baby wipes and and a few canned goods. There was no managers special produce so to save I did a few things like instead of buying baby carrots ($1.99 lb) I bought whole carrots ($.79/lb) and instead of bagged salad I bought loose leaf lettuces.  I ended up spending $56.46 and saving $60.08.

There are a lot of other deals to be had so I am excited to hear how you did at Kroger this week. Hopefully your Kroger was much better stocked than mine!

I ended up at Kroger twice this week just because I didn't plan my first trip out very well. 45% savings on Tuesday, then 73% on Thursday, both at the Sevierville Kroger. My husband and I stopped at the Broadway Kroger today while we were in Knoxville to see if there were any good close outs, but I was super disappointed. The clearance stuff was pretty picked over. :(

Katie, maybe they will continue the sale next week and you can go to a different store.
