THE PROOF- Kroger 3-16-09
My trip to Kroger today was somewhat frustrating. Why? Well, my two boys were crazy, I forgot to bring two important coupons, two of my cellfire coupons did not ring up and they were already out of a few things I needed to make my deals really work.
All that being said I spent $54.39 and still saved $61.61 (56%).
Here are some of the things I did buy.
Quaker rice cakes $.99
$5 off with 10 items sale made them $.49
Betty Crocker Chocolate Chip Cookie Mix $2.19
-$.50 printable coupon
-$.45 cellfire

Bounty Paper Towels- $1.39
-$.25 pgesaver
-$1 PG Saver booklet ( promotion from last dec.)
Final cost- $.14
Arnold Soft Wheat Bread- B1G1

Other than those good deals I bought a lot of produce and that was about it. I aslo got some on sale soy milk at Target and some free Johnson’s Buddies soap.
$54.39 at Kroger + $8.06 at Target= $62.45 for the week.
My goal is to spend no more this week.
I’ll let you know how that goes.

Does Kroger allow you to use a manufacturer cupon + cellfire “type” coupons?
Yes! That is what is so great. Cellfire, shortcuts and pgesaver coupons can all be combined with manufacturer coupons and sales. That is the best way to get great deals at Kroger.
So i can load a coupon from cellfire or p&g esaver on my Krogers card and also use a coupon from sundays paper?
Yes. (And when you are loading don't forget shortcuts.com.) Your loaded coupons used with paper coupons from the Sunday paper, or printable coupons can really help you save!
Wouldn't the Sargento cheese have been 19cents? You get 50cents off for the buy 10 get $5 off sale and then if you have a 40cent coupon, it's doubled to 80cents, right?
Rebecca-
Sorry for any confusion. The cheese was $1.49 after the $.50 off sale. Then I had the $.40 coupon which doubled made it .69 cents.
Katie,
Thanks so much for starting up your site, it is great to have informations that is local ~ I just love your website!
I normally do my shopping at Wal-mart, but I thougt I would try your suggestions on Kroger. I shopped the Kroger ad from Sunday's paper and clipped my coupons. My savings at Krogers today (with my Kroger card & Coupons) was $51.21
Thanks again!
This is really great stuff. I've always spent about 125.00/wk on groceries and another 20/wk on toilitries. While I have always used coupons I didn't do it like this. Now I am saving $40/wk in coupons and I've only been doing this 2 weeks now. My grocery bill has been about 100.00 for the past two weeks and thats with all my toilitries. Wow! Thanks so much for the insight on how couponing can really work.
