THE HUSBAND was so kind and kept the two boys at  home with him while I ran to Kroger this morning. I love him.  I learned something though, giving a hungry pregnant woman time to browse the aisles is not so good for the budget. I broke my own rule, I strayed from the list! Here are the best deals i got:

Frozen Food Mega Event: (buy 10 get $5 off, prices are after $5 off)
2 Green Giant Steamers Sweet Peas-$1.49 each
-$.50/1 printable
Final cost=$.49 each

2 Aunt Jemima Pancakes-$.99 (I know this does not quite go with the new healthier diet)
-$1/2 from 10/04 SS
Final cost=$.49 each

Healthy Choice Frozen Meal-$1.45

-$2 off Healthy Choice Meals printable
Final cost=Free

2 Tyson Chicken Nuggets-$4.49

Final cost=$2.99 each

Bocca Burgers-$1.99

Then I was able to get a great deal with the Pepperidge Farm bread I bought.
2 Prego spaghetti Sauces-$2.09 each
-$.50/2 from recent insert
-$2.00 of Pepperidge Farm bread when you buy 2 Prego sauces
Final cost= $1.87 for all three or $.62 each

3 Kroger canned tomatoes- $.59 each (for chili this week)
-$1/3 from Kroger mailer

Final cost=Free

Kroger Baby Carrots (2lb)-$1.25

Kroger Corn Chips-$1.29
-$.75/1 from Kroger Mailer

4 Dove Shampoo & Conditioner-on moving sale $2.74
Nuetrogena T-Gel Shampoo-on moving sale-$3.94
Comforts Diapers (30)- $6.99

-3 $1/1 Dove coupons from recent insert
-$1.50/1 Dove coupon printed at check out on previous trip
-$1/1 T-Gel shampoo from recent insert
-$3/1 Comforts printable (I could not find this at Kroger.com when I looked today)
-$4 off $20 health and beauty Kroger mailer coupon
Final cost=$9.39 for all 6 products

I then bought a lot of produce, hummus, milk and  a lot of chicken, beef and ground turkey.  I did go over my $100/wk budget but I have meals planned from this trip for pretty much the next two weeks. I should only need to run and get fresh produce and of course soy milk next week.

How did you do this week? If you are still planning a Kroger trip Jenny over at Southern Savers has the best list of Kroger deals I can find.

I found some good deals at Kroger today too. There are several items that can earn you discounts on future trips (within two weeks)–like Walgreens register rewards.

I bought 4 Pillsbury pizza dough tubes, got $1 off from Cellfire and $1 off from Shortcuts, and earned a $2 reward. I could have saved another $.40 from a coupon I printed online, but my printer was running low on ink and it wouldn't scan.

Another good deal I thought was Ziploc bags: buy 3 boxes and get a $2 reward. I'm now going to send in for a rebate from SC Johnson I found on this website and will get $5 back. Since you can get 50 sandwich bags for $2.29, it's like getting three boxes for free. And if you have manufacturer's coupons, you can even make some money. May I suggest the Ziploc Evolve version (same price as the regular) but it's better for the environment because it uses 25% less plastic and is made with wind energy. With this deal, you get to be a Super Mom on several levels!

Finally, I stocked up on sodas because of the free Cheezits promotion: buy 3 12 packs or Cokes / Sprites on sale for $12 and get 2 free boxes of Cheezits (worth $5.58). Even though I've seen cokes cheaper at Target, if your kids like Cheezits, this is the better deal.

I got the Kroger peanut butter (on sale for $1) and used the Kroger mailer coupon for .75 off. I also bought the .50 pancakes and french toast and I'm wondering if they qualify for this rebate???

What do you think? Kinda vague…

I think the pancakes definitely qualify. How many boxes did you buy?!

I think 6 (2 french toast and 4 pancakes)-we ate 2 boxes of french toast this morning-so it sounds like alot, but it doesn't go far! Since we are recycling at about 50%, I might be able to find the upc codes. Wonder if it has to be on one receipt-I'll look again and see if it says.

I found my receipt, but guess what? I bought them on 10/10 and the rebate starts 10/11! Bummer! At least I only paid .50 each. I think if I have more good coupons I might go get more…
