I have decided to award the first CouponKatie Coupon Queen (or King) of the Week Award.  What comes along with winning the award? Well, not much other than me sharing your frugal accomplishments and all of us saying a big Wow! Way to go!  My hope is that these stories of Super Savings will keep us all encouraged as we clip, organize, plan and shop.

The inaugural award goes to Shirley. She is the one who let me know about the 30% off of everything sale at the Food Lion in Jefferson City. I sent her a quick email to thank her and this is what she replied:

Your welcome! I went yesterday and my total bill was $185.35. At 30% it totaled $129.74. I had $82.00 in coupons and my final bill was $47.74. Unbelievable huh? I saved $137.61. Never have I got such a good deal in my life and it’s all thanks to you and your website.

Wow! I am impressed. I asked Shirley if I could share her savings as an encouragement to all my readers. I love to hear how well other people are doing on cutting down their grocery budgets. Very nice work Shirley!

THE HUSBAND laughed when I told him about this award.
