Cheapest Soy Milk in Knoxville

27 February 2009 374 views View Comments

soymilkI know what you’re thinking…but due to some “milk issues” with my firstborn, I switched him to soy milk very early in his life. (It’s not that bad…if that’s all you’ve ever had).

My boys drink A LOT of soy milk so I am always on the lookout for the best deal in town.

I think I have found it at the Target on Washington Pike.

Don’t ask me why but, they seem to have considerably less expensive soy milk.

8th Continent sells for $1.37 everyday!

Silk is also less expensive there.

Am I wrong? Have you found it cheaper? Do share.

Some of us in the Austin house really enjoy Soymilk, others don't so much! I'll check my Target to see if it's the same price, I would think so. That's a great deal!

Is that for a half gallon? That's almost half what it is in most places.

    Suzy,
Yep that's for a half gallon. Drink up!

I never noticed that Target sold 8th Continent! We love that soymilk. We actually started drinking the 8th Continent Complete because it has added fiber, calcium, and Omega-3 DHA. Is that at Target too? I will definitely go check it out!

My Target here in West Hills doesn't carry that brand, they only have Silk. But, I suppose it's because there is limited grocery space since it isn't a Super Target. Thanks for the tip, it's a great deal that I'll grab when I'm out at Turkey Creek!

    Colleen,
Please let our West Knoxville readers know what they can find at Turkey Creek. Since I live on the other side of town, I don't get to the WEST SIDE very often for shopping. Maybe you could be CouponKatie's west side correspondent :0)

I would love to be your West Side girl! Sadly, I'm not out as far as Turkey Creek very often. But when I go I'll keep everyone posted. I get stuck in my West Hills/Bearden circle. I'll check Food City when I go. You can sometimes get some pretty good deals and fuel bucks, too. On the Food City note, I just filled up my van with gas and used $20 worth of fuel bucks and only $9 out of pocket!

You probably already know this (being a former Southknoxvillian), but the “Bargain Barn” otherwise known as the United Grocery Outlet on Chapman Hwy is a good place for bargains. They don't do coupons there, though. Occaisionally I have found organic products there including soy milk, applesauce, cookies. But it's hit or miss-you never know what they are going to find. And be sure to check the dates. Also I recently checked out DRS in Alcoa. It is a similar discount warehouse. They don't do coupons either. But they are worth checking out. I had read an article in the news-sentinel by Nancy Twigg (frugal guru). When I went there with my 5 little children, they were delighted to find snacks on a table at the front (Pepperidge Farm cookies, nonetheless). I spotted a bunch of paper goods. I asked how much and the nice guy said I'll give you a trash bag and you can fill it up for $2. I took 2 bags-BIG BLACK TRASH BAGS and filled them full of bags of plates, bowl, and cups. We finished our shopping and when I checked out he said,”Give her my discount.” When I got home I saw the discount was 25%! Needless to say, I'll be going back!
