A Great Solution for Stained or Torn T-Shirts
I have two sons, and The Husband, that means a lot of stained or torn t-shirts. While I am getting better at stain removal I am not magic and we end up with a lot of unwearable t-shirts. (I only need so many dust clothes.)
I was so excited to see this idea in Family Fun Magazine I almost headed to the craft store immediately. (If you are new to this blog you should know that I am in no way gifted with craftiness, so a trip to the craft store means I am really inspired.)
The idea is to use a fabric applique to cover up a stain or personalize a plain tee you found on clearance.
You can download a template for trees, a bike, a guitar or a shark.
Then trace the template on a piece of fabric (some you bought or another old/stained shirt) and and a sheet of fusible fabric webbing (I am not yet sure what this is but I plan to find out soon), then cut them out.
Then you just follow the webbing package’s instructions to adhere the homemade applique to your shirt.
The magazine also showed a cute tee with a flower design cut out of the front, layered over a long sleeve tee. What a great idea especially with fall on the way.
Do you have any other great ways to reuse or refashion stained clothing? I am always looking for new ideas.
